Choosing ADC was an easy decision in part because we liked your designs best. Having built two homes previously, we appreciated the high quality materials and construction used throughout the homes we saw.

The other reason we wanted to work with ADC was your design/build option. It makes so much sense, and saves a considerable amount of time and money. Design/build requires a certain degree of trust that the construction bid will be fair and reasonable. However, it is quite easy to verify the reasonableness of a bid by using comparable cost per square foot prices in the same area for similar quality homes.

We retained ADC to design and build our beachfront home in South Maui. The architects at ADC were particularly adept at adopting Hawaiian design to our unique site. We were able to work closely with Durwin, our lead architect, to achieve these goals. We were also able to participate in the design and plan preparation, which was something we were especially interested in doing when we selected ADC.

Using ADC to construct the house was our way of meeting the goal of translating design to actual finished home. ADC has accomplished carpenters and masons who give the construction process a running start at success. In addition, with design and construction under one organization, it was easier for us to make changes to various parts of the house as it took shape.

The Z-shaped plan and careful siting of this residence maximizes the potential of a dramatic site - offering panoramic ocean views from all spaces while minimizing the scale of the structure. Cross ventilation of all rooms and ample protection from sun and wind are commendable environmental considerations. Architectural detailing is straight forward and skillfully executed.
